ProtoShare 9, the latest release of the on-line collaborative prototyping tool from Site9, incorporates updates to the user interface, palette and stencil library that makes it easier than ever for new users to immediately begin creating rich, interactive prototypes for websites and mobile applications.

Site9, Inc. announced the release of ProtoShare 9, the latest version of one of the industry’s leading collaborative user interface prototyping tools for websites and mobile applications. ProtoShare 9 includes updates to the user interface that make it even easier to find and use the most important and commonly used features. New features also include a more robust stencil library, a new WYSIWYG palette and improved tool tips and training materials that enable new users – even those who have never created a prototype before – to quickly begin creating rich, interactive prototypes.

“ProtoShare has become popular among UI and UX professionals who appreciate the robust tool set and collaboration capabilities, however we heard from a number of new users that it wasn’t always easy for them to overcome the learning curve,” said Andrew Mottaz, founder and CTO of Site9. “In ProtoShare 9 our main goal was to make the application interface more intuitive for a new user to get into and immediately begin using ProtoShare effectively. Our goal is that everyone who tries a free 30-day ProtoShare trial can accomplish something useful with ProtoShare in the first 30 minutes. We also made a few more advanced feature updates that we think power users will appreciate as well,” Mottaz added.

Among the new and updated features is a cleaner, more intuitive user interface with a WYSIWYG palette that makes it easier to find and incorporate components. The stencil library is more immediately accessible and includes a wider range of ready-made stencils that save time and enable even first time users to immediately begin creating interactive prototypes that convey their creative ideas. ProtoShare 9 also includes more videos, tool tips and training materials to help users get up to speed quickly.

For more experienced users, ProtoShare 9 incorporates a number of new features that improve interoperability of ProtoShare with other tools and help streamline design and development workflows. Now users can export ProtoShare prototype pages as PNG files for easy sharing with team members and clients. Other new advanced features include the ability to lock contents and container position independently, the ability to assign templates to multiple pages at once, new keyboard shortcuts and an enhanced context menu with more features added to the right-click menu.
